You have created an excellent Blog and I am trying very hard to contribute to it, as I should, but as I am very new to the SHN format (from the PM3) I find it very difficult to do so.

I do have two recordings that I have not found anywhere so far, but they are on VIDEO. I have taped them in NICAM Stereo from the British TV when I was living there. One is the PULSE GIG in a video mix that I have not seen anywhere before – it seems to be the same as the commercial tape, but the shots are different in many places. The other is a Documentary that was shown on TV the same night and it includes video stuff that appears as audio on the ‘Wish you’d been here’ upload you did recently. I am trying to transfer then on the PC. As soon as I do it, you will have them.

The dsotm was better than the JAJ etc… ! Keep up the show!

I am curious to see your videos if you succeed in transferring them on your PC. Please add all useful comments about the source: date, location, taper, label whenever possible (and VHS Cover scan if any).

Please NEVER try to convert back any of your mp3 boots into SHN or FLAC. This is useless since mp3 is already a lossy format and what is lost is lost forever, that's why audiophiles never prefer mp3 when true lossless format is available, unless to listen some tracks on some specific devices like iPod etc.

This is a FUNDAMENTAL rule to prevent pollution and that's why md5 are important in order to check if the source is reliable or not. There are also other tools based on spectral analysis.

If you have already got true SHN material from other means (and not reencoded/faked from mp3), then your stuff is valuable specially if you have also md5 or fingerprints files with it. This will interest the community for sure. So once more never reencode a mp3 source into SHN. This is a waste of time for you and all audiophiles.
Thanks in advance for respecting this rule.

Of course you can reecode SHN>WAV>mp3 as you want but always for your personal use, but for trading lossless format is always preferred.

THANK YOU for your links. I have a version of this show and will check if ti is the same of mine. I will UL more stuff in coming days but for personal reason I can't connect on mondays and tuesdays.
